About Fox & Lotus Consulting
Why the name?
Fox & Lotus Consulting got it's name from two things in nature - the fox and the lotus. Years ago, our founder found deep meaning in seeing how the lotus grows through mud and water and yet blossoms on the surface into a beautiful flower. The lotus represents the resilience needed to grow through the challenges of being a business owner or someone who is heavily supporting the growth of a company or organization.
The fox, has to adapt to ever changing circumstances and can live in virtually any climate. They employ a great deal of strategy in their survival skills. Like the fox, operators and other team members have to adapt to ever changing "climates" and need strategy in their day to day achievements in the dental field.
Strategy, Resilience and Adaptability are the pillars on which Fox & Lotus Consulting helps dental practices and their teams not just survive, but thrive in their environments - whether that's in an established private practice, group practice, denovo or DSO.
How it Started
Caitlin Zulfic started her journey in dentistry in 2006 when a friend who just finished hygiene school joined a practice in Amherst, Massachusetts. After realizing her passion was no longer in pursuing her degree to become a doctor, she decided to pursue the front desk opportunity her friend told her about. Little did she know this experience would springboard her into a career in dental.
After four years in this private office performing front desk and insurance coordinator responsibilities, Caitlin decided to pursue an accounting role at a corrugated box distribution company. She quickly finished her responsibilities early in the day and took an interest in the business operations. With the Operations Manager as her mentor, she quickly grew into a leadership position and began assisting in streamlining operations and improving productivity. But corrugated boxes were boring.
Having a desire to make an impact and help people, Caitlin was drawn back to dentistry. She became a Practice Manager for a 13 office group in Massachusetts and Connecticut. About a year later, she took an opportunity at a growing DSO in Boston as a Regional Manager. After 18 months in the role, she was promoted to Director of Specialties, where she supported about 70 specialty doctors and their traveling teams for about 3.5 years.
She later moved to the midwest and helped grow a private group in greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana.
Drawing on these experiences and seeing the many challenges facing the industry, Caitlin desired to help more offices by starting her own consulting agency - and Fox & Lotus Consulting was born!
About our Founder
Caitlin loves tapping into her creativity to help offices strategize and reach goals while creating a happy and fun office culture. Outside of her work, Caitlin enjoys home decor, crafts (such as candle making and custom gifts), painting, traveling & spending time with her husband and family. She has a dog named Teddy and a cat named Shirley who are the best pets!
